Sunshine Coast Council – What You Need to Know

Sunshine Coast Council is a local government that makes decisions about the city’s budget. The council recently approved its budget for 2022-23, which will include an investment of $273 million in local infrastructure projects. This money will improve access to facilities and services, and will create jobs and boost the economy. Some of the projects the council will invest in include stormwater assets, park improvements, and environmental programs.

The council has a plan to reduce costs and improve the services it provides. In the next five years, it is planning to invest $3.1 million in the arts and culture sector. There are also plans to reduce costs for community groups and invest in more technology. The council has also cut staffing costs and implemented mobile computing and e-business, which will improve efficiency and customer service. These investments are aimed at improving the quality of life in the Sunshine Coast.

One recent development on the Sunshine Coast has been the sale of the Sunshine Coast Shopping Centre. The property sold for $6 million. The 60-year-old man was arrested for a knife related offence. The council also recognizes the role of local First Nations people in society. They are also working to make Daylight Saving permanent. A bill is currently being considered by the state to make this a permanent part of the calendar.

The Sunshine Coast Region is a peri-urban area in South East Queensland. The City of Caloundra and the Shires of Noosa and Maroochy were merged into the region in 2008. The Sunshine Coast has a population of approximately 351 thousand people. Its budget for the 2020-2021 financial year is A$782 million, including $243 million in Capital Works. There are three campuses of TAFE Queensland on the Sunshine Coast.

The Sunshine Coast has excellent public transport connections. Sunshine Coast Council operates zero-fare buses during the peak summer holidays. The Sunshine Coast Railway line connects the coastal strip to Maroochydore and Caboolture. It also has commuter trains to Gympie twice daily. There is also a public bus system called Sunbus, which connects the city with Maroochydore and Caloundra.
