Where is Sunshine Coast Hospital? There are two Sunshine Coast hospitals that serve the area. Nambour General Hospital has served the local community since 1920 and was a major referral centre for the area. The hospital is currently undergoing an $86 million redevelopment to better serve the local community. Maleny Soldiers Memorial Hospital provides services to the surrounding area, with a fully functioning sub-acute rehabilitation unit and a proven track record for outstanding patient outcomes.
Sunshine Coast University Hospital is a state-of-the-art, tertiary healthcare facility with a total of 750 beds. The hospital was built with a consortium of Lendlease, Siemens, Capella Capital, Spotless Facilities Services, and Aurecon. It opened on April 21, 2017 with 450 beds, but is planned to reach its full capacity of 738 beds by 2021. The main hospital building is split into six functional levels, and features roof top plant rooms and a helipad.
